Bülent Önder
Founding Partner
Bülent Önder has been graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Law in 1986 and began his
career in 1987 as Assistant Inspector. He continued his career, in the following order, as Inspector,
Chief Inspector, and finally as Head of Inspection Department at the Turkish Radio
and Television Corporation (TRT).
He completed
his postgraduate degree on Radio and Television at the International Academy of
Braodcasting, in Montreux, Switzerland in 1999 with First Class Honours
Degree. His postgraduate thesis, entitled “Personnel Management Process in
Public Service Broadcasting Organizations and A Model Recommendation for Turkish
Radio-Television Organization (TRT)”, was translated into Turkish and published
as a book in 2000. He is the co-author of the Handbook for Managers (TRT Publication,
2002).
He took an active
role in the reorganization projects of the TRT and
contributed to the preparation of legislation related to broadcasting.
Between 2011 and
2012, he coordinated the project named “Matching Lines”,
a six-episode long television documentary produced by the TRT, with the support of the European Union (EU).
He is currently a
PhD student at the University of Westminster, London, in the field of Media, Art, and Design. He researches “Editorial Independence and Accountability of the TRT” for his
thesis.
He has been working
as an expert for courts in the fields of IP Law and Media Law since 2011. He is
also specialised in administrative law, EU projects, auditing, and intellectual property valuation.
He holds various proficiency certificates issued by the World Intellectual
Property Organization (WIPO) for the following courses: Copyright and Related Rights; Collective Management of Copyright and Related Rights; Trademarks, Industrial
Designs and Geographical Indications; Patents; Intellectual Property Management; Madrid System for
the International Registration of Marks.
He is a part-time
lecturer at Atılım University for Legal English and Media Law.
As an EU project
expert, he wrote and coordinated many EU projects. He is currently providing
service as Quality
Assurance and Compliance Consultant for the Trans
Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline Project (TANAP).
He is actively
participating in various national and international events organised in connection
with public broadcasting; public broadcasting and its reorganization; public
broadcasting and copyrights; and internal auditing. He has several books and
articles published in the related fields.
Bülent speaks English fluently, and is intermediate in French and German. He is a native Turkish speaker.
