Fethi Merdivan

Fethi Merdivan has been graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Law in 1988 and started his career as a Candidate Judge in 1990. Between 2003 and 2018, he worked, in the following order, as Judge, Inspector, Rapporteur Judge for the Ministry of Justice, and finally, as a Judge in Ankara Court of Industrial and Intellectual Property Rights.

After his retirement in 2018, he has been working on academic and professional aspects of IP Law / IP disputes as legal advisor, lawyer and lecturer.

Fethi Merdivan had numerous presentations in many national and international seminars and congresses organised by the Supreme Court, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Culture, the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey, the Union of Turkish Bar Associations, Ankara/İstanbul Bar Association, TAIEX, leading Turkish universities, employee associations and public institutions in the field of IP. He had written numerous essays and papers. He is the co-author of the Commentary named “Interpretation of Law on Intellectual and Artistic Works” in volumes I & II.

He is a native Turkish speaker, and intermediate in English.
